The Simpson Storm football team travels to the University of Dubuque today for an uphill battle against the Spartans. The Storm have struggled to score points on the season despite moving the ball well on offense, including earning over 500 yards of offense last week against Luther but scoring only 23 points and were just 1-5 in the red zone for the second half and only scoring six points. Head coach Matt Jeter says while the ball hasn’t bounced the way of Simpson much this season, they can control the opportunities they do have.

“I’m not a big luck guy, go create your own opportunity. You want to go make a play, go make a play. We have opportunities, with a ball in the air for a 50/50 ball, they can come down with the ball why can’t we? Go take that initiative, have a little tenacity and a little more grit, to say hey I don’t like how this is going and go make a play. We have to go make and create opportunities, in every phase. Offense, defense, and special teams.”

The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 3:35, with kickoff scheduled for 4pm.
