Indianola and Norwalk will be the teams to beat when the Little Hawkeye Conference Volleyball Tournament takes place today at Indianola’s Blake Fieldhouse. The tournament will begin with pool play at 4:30 p.m.
Indianola and Norwalk will be this year’s top seeds after sharing the Little Hawkeye regular season championship with 6-1 conference records. The Indians won the regular season match against the Warriors last Tuesday by a score of three sets to one.
The Little Hawkeye standings also featured ties for third, fifth and seventh place. Oskaloosa and Dallas Center-Grimes both finished 4-3 in league play, followed by Pella and Pella Christian at 3-4 and Newton and Grinnell at 1-6.
Indianola was ranked fifth in Class 4A and Norwalk was No. 8 in 4A as of October 6, but the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union is expected to release a new set of rankings today.
The Indians will face Grinnell, Pella and DC-G in pool play while the Warriors will take on Newton, Pella Christian and Oskaloosa. If Indianola and Norwalk both win their respective pools, they will play for the Little Hawkeye Tournament championship in the final round of the night.
