The Class 2A Regional 8 volleyball playoffs begin on Wednesday for Pella Christian, and the Eagles are emphasizing the importance of focusing on each match.
P.C. opens postseason play with a second-round home matchup against fellow Marion County school Pleasantville, who they defeated 21-17, 21-17 at the North Mahaska Invitational on September 17th. Eagles head coach Tammi Wight says that while it’s fun to begin regionals, she is making sure her squad stays focused on their current opponent and not potential opponents down the road.
“It’s definitely always exciting to start postseason, but it’s also nerve wracking. You don’t want to look past anyone. You don’t want to downplay any game because I feel especially this year, through all classes, like almost any team can beat any team on any given night.”
Pella Christian’s Class 2A Region 8 second round home volleyball match against Pleasantville is set for Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
