The class 4A #15 Knoxville Volleyball Squad starts its road to Iowa City in the class 4A regional semifinal against rival Pella. The two teams have played this season with the Dutch scoring a 2-1 victory in the Pella Invitational on October 8th. Knoxville earned the bye due to being ranked for most of the season. Junior Brttany Bacorn tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that while they know what kind of a team Pella is, they are more worried about how they manage things on their side of the net.

Bacorn: “We’re just going to prepare our side more, we’re not really worried about what’s on the other side of the net, because we’ve been in every match, we just take ourselves out of the game, so we’ll prepare for what we need to work on and see what happens.”

Pella Junior Middle Blocker Bryn Higginbotham believes both teams learned plenty about each other when they clashed at the Dutch home invitational just over a week ago, and they will be seeking as many advantages as they can in what should be a close match…

Higginbotham: “They definitely have a really good outside hitter who also sets. We have to focus on getting our block up and focus on another speed and they’re really good at spot hitting, so we have to read their shoulders and make sure we get a block up.”

First serve is at 7:00 with the winner taking on the survivor of the Carlisle and Marion match Tuesday in the regional final.
