The Marion County United Way 2022 Campaign is underway with hopes of raising $60,000 to help support three impact areas, education, health and human services.
The local United Way plans to support 13 agencies in Marion County at the next appropriation of grants in the Spring.
A few of the areas where the United Way funds have been at work include helping preschools with supplies, assisting people getting to medical appointments, providing handicap accessiblity, supporting Girl and Boy Scouts attending camps, helping provide meal deliveries for seniors and Special Olympics.
Dee Alexander is the Vice-President of the Marion County United Way, she explained why it is important to give money to the campaign, “It’s very important we fund several non-profit agencies in Marion County. We have some in Pleasantville, Knoxville and Pella. Anyone who is non-profit 501c3 can apply for money from us.”
The Marion County United Way is an approved 501c3 public charity and donations are tax-deductible.
