Tickets are available for purchase for the Knoxville Area Community Theater production of The Wizard of Oz. The show will be performed at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center November 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Show times are 7:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There are also 2:00 pm matinees Saturday and Sunday.

The musical, which is being produced in cooperation with the Knoxville Community School District, features performers and crew from Knoxville, Marion County and the surrounding area.

The stage production of The Wizard of Oz is based on the book of the same name by L. Frank Baum. The show is similar but not identical to the iconic 1939 movie.

“This stage version of The Wizard of Oz is one of the classics of American musical theater,” said Michael Garrison, who directs the show.
