The Indianola School Board held a work session last week, which included a discussion regarding personnel and the possibility of offering early retirement options for district staff. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the board discussed their options moving forward, including wanting to stay as flexible as possible.
“Every year we look at staffing, what our needs are and what our goals are down for the future, and is early retirement something we would offer for faculty members? Right now, it’s not a decision that has been made yet, our goal is to hopefully have that decision out to those it would affect sooner rather than later. We just want to make sure we are being conscious of taxpayer dollars, and our staffing fits the needs that we have in the district.”
