The Indianola School Board held a strategic planning segment at their latest work session meeting, including holding the board and administration accountable for the goals. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News goals are only good if you follow through, whether you succeed or not, you have to measure yourself if you tried to accomplish the goal.

“We put an emphasis on social-emotional health, faculty, staff, and student satisfaction, and being fiscally responsible. Are we being good stewards of the dollars we are given by the community and the state. It’s all of those pieces rolled into it, and throughout the course of the year we can see how we are doing and adjust accordingly. And if by the end of the year we aren’t at vision, what do we need to do to get to that next level?”

Ihsn also said goals were discussed around career technical education, as well as putting a priority on student safety.
