The Twin Cedars Shooting Team is hosting an event to help the team defray costs for the sport. The event is Thelma’s Chicken Dinner which will be held Thursday, November 17th.

It is a drive thru meal that can be picked up at the Bussey Community Center at the back door between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m..

Heather Dunkin, one of the event coordinators, tells KNIA/KRLS News about the fundraiser, “The money goes to the shooting team. We try to keep their expenses really low so the kids don’t have to pay a whole lot to be part of the team. But, they have costs, as to event entry fees that are paid. All the kids have jerseys and our biggest cost obviously is the ammunition.”

The meal tickets can be purchased from members of the shooting team or by calling Heather Dunkin at 641-218-8865. The meal consists of two pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, pasta salad and a roll. No guarantees of same day meals, so pre-purchase tickets.
