An incumbent State Senator has won another term, while a newcomer in the Iowa House has maintained a primary election victory.
In the new District 19, Republican Ken Rozenboom defeated Democrat Tyler Stewart by a margin of 18,115 (68.6%) to 8,282 (31.35%) in the newly drawn district representing most of Marion Counties and Jasper County, as west as Mahaska County west of Oskaloosa.
In House District 37, Barb Kniff-McCulla, a Republican, defeated Democrat Mike Overman with 10,590 votes (74.6%) to 3,590 (25.3%).
