Republicans performed very well in the Marion County election Tuesday. There were a total of 14,473 (58.72%) of registered voters who went to the polls. There are a total of 24,647 registered voters in the county.
Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia was pleased with the turnout . Grandia said they were very busy at the polls. The turnout at polling sites for in-person voting was very strong. Absentee ballots received in the county totaled 3,581. According to Grandia absentee returns were a little lower than in the past.
In summarizing the election Grandia tells KNIA/KRLS News, Marion County came out strong. Grandia thanks the voters for participating in the process as well as election officials and his office staff.
