Rich Rees, a former Knoxville Hy-Vee employee, lost his life in August. His wife Kathy was also a former long-time employee at Hy-Vee.
Hy-Vee presented Kathy a $2,100 check to go toward the Knoxville Panther Scholarship in Rich’s name.
Knoxville Hy-Vee Store Manager, Levi Martley, “We were able to raise money via a $10 meal in which half of it went into a scholarship fund in his name. From that we were able to donate $2,100 in Rich’s name to the Knoxville Panther Scholarship Fund.”
Money for the scholarship came from a meal that was held along with donations. According to Martley, Hy-Vee is looking at doing the event yearly now.
