After the first measurable snow of the season impacted the region earlier this week, another form of winter weather will settle in tonight — bitter cold. Near record low temperatures are possible and well-below normal highs and lows are expected through Sunday. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach the low 20s locally Friday and Saturday, and morning wind chills will approach and even possibly drop below zero in the mornings. Although the bitter air won’t be as dangerous as the type of cold bursts typically seen later in the season, mornings will be especially uncomfortable. A warming trend will likely begin early next week, and temperatures may be closer to normal by Thanksgiving, with highs in the 40s.
