At the Class 1A State Championship Football game Friday night, the Iowa Bankers Association announced Pella Christian senior Isaac Kacmarynski as the recipient of the IBA’s 2022 Student Athlete Achievement Award in Class 1A.
Along with the award from the IBA, comes a $1,000 scholarship to the college of the student-athletes choice. The recipients of the award and scholarship are determined by the student-athletes academic performance, athletic participation, leadership skills and community involvement.
As a senior, Kacmarynski helped lead Pella Christian to an 8-2 overall record and all the way to the Class 1A Quarterfinals. Offensively, the senior led the Eagles in rushing with 1,237 yards and 17 touchdowns while also throwing for 1,044 yards and 10 scores. Kacmarynski was also Pella Christian’s leading tackler with 83 and had two interceptions, both of which he returned for touchdowns.
