Weiler Products Inc., manufactures equipment primarily for the asphalt paving market.

The company was founded in 2000. Weiler has 400,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Knoxville. The facility is equipped with machining tools, welding, powder and wet paint and assembly, allowing Weiler to control quality and delivery for the majority of their machine components.

Weiler recently expanded to better serve their customers. The new building expansion will enable Weiler to control as much of their supply chain as possible.

According to Joel Weiler the first thing going in the new building will be a 10K fiber laser to increase steel cutting capacity about 25 times what it is now.

Joel Weiler tells KNIA/KRLS News about the expansion, “We’re also adding a plasma cutter to be able to cut thicker steel. It’s giant computers that have a laser attached to them. They are very impressive, what they can do. They organize all the parts on a sheet of steel to get as many parts as you can out of that piece of steel and minimize waste. Just powerful software, powerful machines. They’ll be cool, fun new toys for us to play with.”

Weiler Inc. has paved the Golden Gate Bridge in California and been called upon to provide surfaces at NASCAR tracks along with many other projects. The expansion will help Weiler with shorter lead times and allow the company to be more flexible.
