The Pleasantville varsity wrestling team opened the season competing in a triangular wrestling meet Thursday evening at the S.E. Warren Meet.
The Trojans won all three matches for the night. They topped the Moravia Mohawks 66 to 15 and beat Martensdale-St. Mary’s and ended the night with a 42-36 victory over the S.E. Warren Warhawks.
In the Moravia contest the Trojans had 10 pins and a forfeit. The falls were by Colton Miller, Tommy Booth, Caleb Cook, Tyler Gibson, Carter Metcalf, Silas Koenig, Noah Wenndt, Ross Stephens, Carter Bingham and Wyatt Mann. Morrison Fulmer was issued a forfeit.
The Trojans also beat Martensdale-St. Mary’s with the help of three forfeits.
In the narrow 42-36 win over the Warhawks, Pleasantville had three pins, a technical fall, two forfeits and a decision. The pins were by Mann, Metcalf and Kuhnen. Cook had a 15-2 win and Gibson won by technical fall. The win by decision was by Koenig.
Pleasantville wrestles at the Nodaway Valley Tournament Saturday.
