Three Central College women’s soccer players were cited as College Player Award of Distinction recipients by the United Soccer Coaches.
Midfielder Rachel Daniels (senior, Geneseo, Ill.), midfielder Bridget Lynch (senior, Northglenn, Colo., Jefferson Academy) and defender Alyssa Knuth (senior, Benton Harbor, Mich., St. Joseph JS) were this year’s recipient for the Dutch women.
The award was recently established for member head coaches to submit deserving players based on one or more of the following criteria:
- Player has achieved quality performance on the field;
- Represented the highest ideals of team leadership;
- Exhibited quality character attributes including sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, officials and the game;
- Made other significant contributions to the benefit of the program and the community.
Daniels and Lynch were named to the American Rivers Academic and all three served as team co-captains. Daniels and Lynch were also College Sports Communicators Academic All-District picks.
