Former Pella Christian football players Jase Amelse and Drew Geetings were a part of the 2022 NAIA Championship winning Northwestern Raiders, who defeated Keiser University 35-25 to win the title on Saturday.

A junior linebacker studying Actuarial Science & Business Administration, Amelse is a two-time letter winner for the Raiders. In his career, Amelse has played in 16 games and recorded 22 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and two pass breakups. At Pella Christian, Amelse was a two-time All-District football selection with 15 career touchdowns and 1227 yards from scrimmage on offense, while racking up 162.5 tackles and 14 tackles for loss in three seasons as a starting linebacker on defense.

Geetings, a freshman linebacker and accounting major at Northwestern, was a two-time All-District honoree at Pella Christian. As an Eagle, Geetings had 29 career receptions for 611 yards and 5 touchdowns on offense, while recording 99 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, four and a half sacks, seven fumble recoveries, four interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns as a starting defensive back and linebacker. Drew did not appear for the Raiders varsity in 2022 and is now turning his attention to the track and field season.
