The Indianola City Council discussed the 6th Street Sub-Area plan at their meeting Tuesday, the area where the former Warren County Shop Site was located. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News this is long-term planning, and the council is weighing their options now as to what to work towards.
“We want to make sure that as we transition more of those industrial uses out of our community, that we have a really good plan for the future. This is not something that will take place over the next several months, this is really a 20-year horizon of what the future of Indianola could look like in that area, and the designers and planners of that product have done an exceptionally good job.”
Reeves also said the community partners and Warren County have been very helpful in the process, and he looks forward to seeing what that area eventually looks like.
