The Simpson Storm men’s basketball team stayed just a game back of first place in the American Rivers Conference with an 88-76 win at Buena Vista Wednesday, while the Storm women completed the sweep and picked up their first conference win 78-61.
The Storm men had one of their best halves of the season, scoring 53 points and leading by 21 at the break, and survived a late charge to hold on the for the win. Easton Darling continued his MVP style play with a game high 29 points.
The Storm women also had to hold on late, as they led for most of the contest despite never pulling away to take full control, leading 40-32 at the break and just 56-52 after the third. Haley Rasmussen scored 18.
The Storm men are now 10-2 overall and 3-1 in ARC play, while the women are 6-7 and 1-3. Both teams next play Saturday hosting Luther.
