The 2023 legislative session is underway, with local elected officials now serving on committees, preparing bills to go to the main floor of the House and Senate.
State Representative Brooke Boden will serve as Chair of the Government Oversight Committee, and be a member of the Ways and Means, Education, Health and Human Services, and Economic Development committees.

State Senator Julian Garrett will serve as Chair of the Justice Systems Subcommittee, which controls the budget for a large portion of the state’s operating budget including law enforcement and prisons. Garrett will also serve as Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee, the Appropriations Committee, Health and Human Services Committee, and the Education Committee.
