The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads will head to Moravia tonight in a final tune up for the Bluegrass Conference Tournament, which for the girls starts on Saturday. Melcher-Dallas will take on Moulton-Udell on Saturday in a first round game, but before that the Saints will take on Moravia. The Saints have seven wins this season, but three are out of the conference. Point Guard Addi Wadle tells KNIA Sports they need to play better against conference teams to realize their goal of getting to the Semi-Final weekend next week in Murray.

Wadle: “I think we haven’t been ourselves in the conference, and haven’t really shown what we can do. So I hope we can shake off this slump and play well in the conference tournament.”

The boys are playing the top seed in the conference tournament, a team that rolled over nearly everyone they have played including a 12 point win over Ankeny Christian in their last game. Saints Coach John Suntken says Moravia is very good and skilled, but he adds his team is playing its best basketball of the season and getting a great contribution from Owen Suntken, who had his first career triple double in Tuesday’s loss to Mormon Trail. The girls game is set to begin at 6:00 at Moravia.
