The Indianola City Council met in regular session Monday evening, where Mayor Stephanie Erickson read a proclamation declaring February 2nd Chris Street Day in Indianola.
The council appointed Carrie Woerdeman to the Planning and Zoning Commission in a 4-2 vote, with Gwen Schroeder and Christina Beach voting no after a discussion about conflicts of interest of serving on the board.
The council continued the public hearing of a request for a modification to The Village, after they planned a $36 million expansion, and the proposal was approved by council. The council also approved the purchase of a real estate by the Warren County Historical Society, and a change order on the Water Resource Recovery Facility project.
The council will meet again this evening in a special session for a strategic planning discussion and review the FY24 budget. The special meeting tonight is at 6pm in the Peoples Bank Conference Room.
