The Eagles girls basketball team is hopeful a stronger showing in the 2nd half of the season translates to a long postseason run that begins tonight on Eagle Lane. Pella Christian welcomes Cardinal in the opening round of the Class 2A Region 6 playoffs.
Head Coach Jordan Dyk is excited for the opportunity to play at home and to showcase their late-season improvement against a Comets team that is also playing well heading into the tournament.
Cardinal has won three in a row against Seymour, Central Lee, and Keota, and are led by Kinsey Hissem and Brenna Guiter, who are each averaging just over nine points per game. Pella Christian had a late flurry come up just a step short against Indianola on Thursday and have had their final four games against teams in the Class 3A and 4A rankings.
Coverage begins at 6:30 this evening on 92.1 KRLS and the Pella Christian YouTube.
