Pleasantville will be sending three wrestlers to the State Meet this week in Des Moines in Class 1A action. The Trojans wrestled at the 1A District Meet in Truro Saturday.

Advancing to State for Coach Heath DeForest’s team are Dillen Ammons (first place) at 182 pounds along with Caleb Cook at 132 and Tommy Booth at 106. Cook and Booth each were second at their respective weights. The top two in each weight class advance to state competition.

Cook, a junior, will carry a record of 44-5 into state. Booth, a sophomore, is 31-8 for the year and Ammons, a senior, is 38-4. Cook picked up his 100th career win Saturday.

Three Trojan wrestlers were one spot shy of making it to state as Tyler Gibson, Carter Metcalf and Colton Miller, all were third overall. I-35 won the 1A District title with 185 points with Pleasantville second with 162.5 points.
