The Simpson women’s basketball team stayed hot, while the men had trouble against the Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan Wednesday on the road, the women winning 73-41 and the men falling 74-57.

The Simpson women held the Prairie Wolves to just five points in each of the first and third quarters as they won in dominant fashion, getting four players in double figures scoring. The Storm led 35-25 at halftime, then blew the game open in the third and emptied the bench in the fourth. Haley Rasmussen led the squad with 13, Elle Street had 12, and Dylan Holland and Molly Lutmer each had 10 off the bench.

The men again struggled to score in the contest, putting up only 28 first half points and falling behind 38-28, then couldn’t get much closer in the second half as the Prairie Wolves just slowly built on their lead. Easton Darling, Andrew Gibb, and Caden Rehmeier each scored 17 points to lead the way.

The women are now 14-10 and 9-6 in American Rivers Conference action, while the men are now 12-10 and 5-10. Both teams will wrap up the regular season Saturday hosting Central.
