The Indianola girls basketball team has a chance to knock out the team that dashed their state tournament hopes last year, as they host the Bluejays of Bondurant-Farrar tonight in the regional semifinal. Bondurant-Farrar took out Norwalk in the first round 51-36 after outscoring the Warriors in each quarter, however they committed 22 turnovers and 15 fouls against Norwalk’s pressure defense. Indians head coach Jeff Janssen said the Indians are preparing for a quicker pace of play.
“It’s going to be a completely different style game in terms of up tempo-ness and some of the post play that we will see. I’m excited to get together with my staff and implement the game plan and I know the girls are going to be chomping at the bit. Every team is 0-0 going into postseason.”
The game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA and the Indianola Activities YouTube stream, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 7:30pm, with tip-off at 8pm.
