“Love Where You Live,” is a project to add up to three murals in Knoxville, with the first one projected at the Auld Park backed by Thrive Knoxville. The Knoxville City Council Monday night directed Hannah Vander Veer, who represented “Love Where You Live,” to move forward with the project.

Vander Veer tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Our first mural, we approached the city of Knoxville to place at Auld Park. So, I was at city council earlier this week asking them if they were ok in proceeding, and they were on board. So, we’re on track to have the first mural placed at Auld Park and our goal is to really have these three murals done this summer. So, hopefully like in May, June, July type of thing.”

Currently Vander Veer is working on three smaller mural projects that will be done by local artist Amber Klootwyk. Vander Veer said Klootwyk has done a lot of cool stuff in her career and she is a very artistic person. Thrive has donated enough money to complete the first mural.
