After posting a pair of shutouts, Central College’s Sydni Huisman (senior, Treynor) is the American Rivers Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

In her first action following a lengthy off-season rehab from surgery, Huisman threw 11.2 innings of scoreless ball in posting a pair of wins at the Fontbonne (Mo.) Invitational in Edwardsville, Illinois. She allowed one hit, struck out six and walked one in 5.2 innings of Central’s 1-0 victory over Webster University (Mo.) Saturday. Then on Sunday, Huisman again surrendered just one hit while fanning five and walking one over six innings in a 7-1 win over the University of the Ozarks (Ark.). Huisman previously won the award April 5, 2021.

Central posted a 3-1 record on the weekend and heads to the Tucson (Ariz.) Invitational Games for 12 games March 10-17.
