Katie Shawver is the new Knoxville Municipal Airport Manager. Her husband Kyle will be in charge of Knoxville Aviation. Her first day in charge was Thursday. The Shawver’s are residents of Knoxville and both are commercial pilots who have extensive experience and knowledge of the aviation industry.

She takes over from the previous airport manager, Dan Van Donselaar, who ran the operation for the past 22 years.

Shawver tells KNIA/KRLS News some of her plans for growth, “That’s a big thing of ours; we don’t just want to grow the airport but the community at large.”

She has flown all over the world and has some big plans for Knoxville.
