Ten student-athletes from Norwalk were members of the Des Moines Lincoln boys swim team during the 2022-2023 season.
The list of Warrior swimmers who competed for the Rails includes senior Tyler Rewerts, juniors Adam Lingor, Dylan Marquardt and Vincent Martin, sophomore Aidan Basinger, and freshmen Trafton Baity, Keegan Kraft, Lane Osterloh, Brayden Plourde and Kingston Smith.
Des Moines Lincoln finished the season by placing fifth at the Iowa Alliance Conference Meet on January 21 and fourth at the District Meet in Ames on February 4. Harrison Eighmy (from Carlisle) was the team’s lone state qualifier.
Several Norwalk swimmers recorded the team’s top district meet times. Marquardt swam the Rails’ fastest 200-yard individual medley in 2:21.76 – placing 11th – as well as the fastest 100-yard breaststroke time (1:05.77) for eighth place. Rewerts placed eighth in the 200 freestyle in 1:59.88 and Kraft took 10th in the 100 backstroke in 1:04.25.
Lingor notched the team’s second-fastest district times in both the 50 freestyle (24.57) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.10). Martin swam the team’s second-best time in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.72.
