Almost 500 students will be attending Knoxville High School Career Week Wednesday and Thursday.  Each student was able to choose from over 70 different sessions to attend.  Each participant had the opportunity to sign up for their top choices and were placed in eight total sessions between the two days.  

Tyler Pearson is the career and college readiness coordinator. He tells KNIA/KRLS news that a unique change to the format this year compared to last year is that other nearby school districts were invited to join Knoxville for the event.

Pearson said, “There are six career clusters is what we call them in school. There are six career clusters, we have at least eight presenters from each of those career clusters. So if a student wanted to stay in agriculture, they could listen to eight different speakers within agriculture. Or if they are interested in engineering they could hopefully find some different career options within that too.”

Students from Knoxville, Melcher-Dallas and Pleasantville will be taking part in Career Week.
