Pleasantville is planning on holding their 72nd Annual FFA Chapter Banquet March 21 at the Pleasantville High School Gymnasium. The event was slated for March 9, but had to be moved to the 21st.

The event gets underway starting with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by the program and meal starting at 6 p.m. The meal will consist of a ribeye with sides.

The program will include various awards and the announcement of the new FFA Officers. There are currently around 60 members in FFA at the school. Jonah Schumacher is the President of the FFA and Chandler Jahner is the advisor, while Erin Cook is the assistant advisor.

Schumacher tells KNIA/KRLS News, “The only real thing I would add, it’s one of the things I look forward to most. It kind of ends the chapter year, but it seems like the staple that we have in our program, not a lot of people, I mean other people’s chapters have banquets but we’re expecting around 300 people and I find that a pretty big deal. I guess I always look forward to the planning which we are currently doing of the event and the night that it happens to celebrate our members’ hard work.”

A few scholarships will be handed out at the end of the night.
