With the winter sports season officially in the books for Pella Christian, the Eagles’ attention quickly turns to spring athletics.
Junior Trevor Veenstra kicked off the spring sports year for Pella Christian track and field this past weekend, by becoming the earliest Drake Relays qualifier in head coach Keith Anderson’s 12-year tenure, surpassing the blue standard in the shot put. Following spring break this week, Veenstra and the rest of the Eagles will compete as a team for the first time this spring on Thursday, March 23rd at Grinnell. The Pella Christian boys will compete 10 times before the Drake Relays on April 28th, while the girls will compete nine times prior to that date. After the Drake Relays, both teams are scheduled to run in two meets before the State Qualifier on May 13th.
The Eagles first track and field meet on March 23rd will be held at the Bear Athletic Center in Grinnell, and is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
