While no major snow accumulations are in the forecast, travel may be hazardous late this afternoon through Friday morning across the region. A wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service from 4 p.m. today through 4 a.m. Friday. Sustained winds between 20 to 30 MPH are expected and gusts up to 45 MPH remain possible during that time.

Most of the region will see scattered rain showers today, with accumulations between 1/4″ to 1/2″ expected — and that may refreeze as temperatures drop quickly with a strong cold front sweeping the region. A brief transition to snow overnight is also possible and may reduce visibilities.

Wind chills into the single digits are expected in the morning hours over the next several days before a warm up by early next week. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for the latest winter weather information.
