Work begins on the Downtown Indianola Square Reconstruction Project today, with work on the alleyways surrounding the square being worked on this spring and summer. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News construction will begin on the south alley, behind the businesses on Salem Ave between Buxton and Howard, which includes the City owned parking lot.
When construction begins, all vehicles will need to be removed from the area, and the city will close off a parking space on Buxton and on Howard to place trash and recycling receptacles, and the City of Indianola wants to remind those who live or work in the area that there are multiple parking lots that provide overnight parking, as the overnight parking restrictions on the square and surrounding area will remain in place.
