Ken Kenyon, Conservation Officer for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources tells KNIA/KRLS about turkey hunting. The season for hunting turkey opens in April and runs through the middle of May.

Kenyon said, “We’ve got the spring turkey hunting season coming up for 2023. That’s going to start in April.” Youth season for hunting (residents only) opens April 7th and runs through the 9th.

Kenyon says that turkey hunting should be better in the southern part of Marion County
