A 41-year-old Knoxville man was charged with Domestic Abuse Assault Third Degree following an incident that occurred March 18.

Due to the report of domestic violence, Dustin Nichols, was arrested and charged. Officers contacted the female who said she was in an argument with Nichols. Nichols allegedly broke her phone when she was contacting the police. 

Nichols allegedly pushed her head back while she was seated which caused her to push against a bed. The female victim complained she had pain to her left side from the incident. A witness corroborated the female’s version of events.

Nichols has two prior convictions for domestic abuse assault. Any individual charged is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
