An area that Knoxville Boys Track and Field is looking to score a lot of points this season is the field events. Coach Eric Kellar has several candidates that are in the mix for varsity spots and it may take a little time to figure it all out due to most of the positions having a lot of competition. Kellar tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his assistants have already seen the potential in the throwing events.

Kellar: “Coach Bacon is pretty excited about Luka and Kale Kincaide, it was hard losing Gavin. If our high jumpers are healthy they’ll be two of the best high jumpers in the conference for sure.”

T.J. DeJong placed 9th in a loaded field at the Central College indoor meet last week with a distance of 18 feet three inches in the long jump. Ruger Kendall was 12th at Central in the shot put he along with Jack Bertrand look to compete for the conference in that event. Knoxville’s first outdoor meet will be Tuesday when the Panthers travel to Pella Christian.
