The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Monday night.

No action was taken for the Conrey Street Sewer Improvements Project. The project was tabled earlier in the month because a homeowner in the area has concerns about an easement.

Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery, tells KNIA/KRLS News “Since that meeting the homeowners have met with city staff and the city’s engineer for the project and been able to make some alterations to the initial proposed easement and since it was tabled at the previous meeting it was brought back to council in order to move forward. We did not take action once again for this award because there are still some concerns with the homeowners and we don’t have the required easement.”

A contract between the city of Knoxville and Thrive of Knoxville for installation of a mural at Auld Park was approved.

The Union Contract with the city of Knoxville and Public Professional Maintenance Employees was approved. The one year contract will give police department employees a 12 percent raise and public works employees a 10 percent raise.. The raise does not include wage adjustments for the supervisors.

There was a discussion on Knoxville Housing Needs Assessment by Glenn Lyons, the city’s economic development director. He mentioned Knoxville is moving forward in the correct direction in regard to housing.
