The Simpson College baseball team split a doubleheader at Loras Tuesday beginning American Rivers Conference play, winning game one 12-2 in seven innings and falling 11-5 in game two. The first game was all Storm, scoring six runs in the top of the second inning and another six in the fifth inning to end the game early as the Storm pitching held the Duhawks to just a run in each of the second and fifth innings. Game two was just the opposite, with the Storm falling behind 3-1 going into the bottom of the third inning, before the Duhawks exploded for seven runs which would be more than enough to earn the split. The Storm are now 11-7 overall and 1-1 in the conference, and will play at rival Central for a three game series beginning Friday.
