March property taxes are due by Friday to avoid penalty. The Marion County Treasurer’s Office provides several convenient ways to pay.
Mail must be postmarked by March 31 or prior to avoid a penalty. Marion County Treasurer Michaela Bigaouette tells KNIA/KRLS news to pay early as mailing the last day does not guarantee a timely postmark.
She adds how easy it is to pay your taxes, “First of all on-line,we really encourage people to use our website. It’s really really easy to navigate. If you pay by e-check it’s only a quarter, if you pay by credit card the fee is more because it’s 2.25 percent of the total amount due. However, I really encourage people to check out our website, it’s easy you can pay at 3 a.m. in the morning in your pajamas if you want to and you can also schedule payments which is a great option for our residents to have.”
A drop box is available 24/7 on the south entrance to the courthouse.
