It’s a tradition that is as dominant as they come in Iowa High School music — 41 times in 47 years in the top four, 32 times in the finals of Class 3A, and twenty times the champs.
Pella Jazz I earned the school’s third consecutive state championship Tuesday in Ames at the Iowa Jazz Championships, and the band celebrated in front of their classmates Thursday at a winter-spring assembly that also celebrated the successes of basketball, wrestling, and bowling and previewed what is already primed to be another special year in track, golf, tennis, and soccer.
