One week from tonight is opening night at the Knoxville Raceway. This will be the 70th season of racing and it looks to be another competitive season in all three sprint car classes. Mike Mayberry is back to defend his title in the Pro Sprints and he tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the Pro Sprints Class is competitive and usually no one dominates from start to finish.

Mayberry: “Everybody is pretty close, and we’ve been fortunate to have a lot of good drivers in the class. We lost a few cars last year, but it would be nice to see the car count around 16-18 and be competitive every night.”

Right now on knoxvilleraceway.com, there are 12 drivers listed in the Pro Sprints Class with no rookies. KNIA will again have live flag-to-flag coverage of all sprint car action at the Knoxville Raceway in 2023 including both of the World of Outlaws weekend, the USAC Corn Belt Clash and Southern Iowa Sprint Week including the 360 Nationals and the 62nd Running of the Nos Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals in August, with Live Track Side at 5:00 and Race Nights Live at 7:00.
