The Simpson Storm softball team hosts rival #17 Central in a crucial American Rivers Conference matchup this afternoon.

The Storm are 1-3 to begin conference play after getting swept by Coe on Saturday, and take on a Central team that split with Wartburg in their conference opener. Simpson was plagued by miscues in the doubleheader against Coe, with six of the ten runs given up in the doubleheader being unearned. Head coach Brent Matthias tells KNIA Sports the Storm have to avoid getting down early, as they have been digging themselves into a hole early in games that are difficult to work out of.

The games will be broadcast live on the KNIA3 stream on KNIAKRLS.com, as well as Simpsonathletics.com, with Andrew Swadner and Trevor Castle on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 2:45, with first pitch at 3pm.
