Ken Kenyon, an officer with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) tells KNIA/KRLS News, as the weather continues to warm up the fish will become more active.

Fishing is always very popular, especially around Marion County where there are plenty of lakes and farm ponds.

Kenyon tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Pretty soon the crappies will be biting pretty good in the spring and like always everybody around here the farm ponds when the bluegills come up to spawn. We should be able to catch a basket full of those.”

Kenyon also gave a final analysis on ice fishing. It was a short season around here, but for those who got out it was a good season.
