PCM Girls Track and Field Team 3rd at Knoxville, Boys 11th at Saydel

The PCM girls track and field team wrapped up a busy week with a fourth place finish at Knoxville’s Panther Relays Thursday night, while the boys team finished their own busy week coming in 11th place at the Saydel Invitational.

The Mustang girls finished with 91 points as a team and got top three finishes from the following athletes/relays:

Shuttle Hurdle Relay – Tori Lindsay, Jorja Teeter, Lillian Humpal, Morgan Karr (1:09.29) – 1st

100 Meter Hurdles – Morgan Karr (16.21) – 1st

High Jump – Morgan Karr (5’2”) – 1st

4×200 Meter Relay – Jorja Teeter, Lillian Humpal, Ryan Bennett, Tiffani Koonce (1:57.55) – 3rd

400 Meter Hurdles – Addison Steenhoek (1:21.12) – 3rd

The PCM boys tallied 41 points as a team at Saydel and had top three finishes from the following athletes/relays:

Shuttle Hurdle Relay – Adrien Robbins, Gavin VanGorp, Griffin Olson, Gavin Fenton (1:02.40) – 1st

4×200 Meter Relay – Evan Jones, Griffin Olson, Jacob Wendt, Gabe Hobbs (1:34.97) – 2nd

110 Meter Hurdles – Gavin Fenton (16.28) – 3rd

4×100 Meter Relay – Evan Jones, Griffin Olson, Gavin Fenton, Adrien Robbins (45.24) – 3rd

The PCM boys and girls are off until Tuesday, with the boys traveling to Mid-Prairie, while the girls compete at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. 

PCM Girls Golf 3rd at Pleasantville Quad, Boys Golf 2nd in the DMC Invitational

The PCM girls golf team finished in third place at the Pleasantville quad meet Thursday night, while the boys golf team brought home a second-place finish in the DMC Invitational.

The Mustang girls shot a 222 in the meet, finishing behind Carlisle and Pleasantville. For the second time this week, Eleigh Davis shot the lowest round for PCM. Davis carded a 50, while claiming second place individually.  Gretchen Uitermarkt posted a 52 in the meet, while Emilyn Davis and Riley Johannes rounded out the scoring with a 59 and a 61 respectively. 

The PCM boys posted a team score of 331 at Jester Park Golf Course, finishing just five strokes back of Des Moines Christian and 16 strokes ahead of third-place Hampton-Dumont-CAL.

Both the PCM golf teams return to the course Monday. The Mustang girls compete in a quad meet at Pella Country Club against Knoxville, Pella, and Pleasantville, while the boys travel to State Center for the West Marshall tournament at Lincoln Valley Golf Course. 

PCM Boys Soccer Hosts West Marshall

The PCM boys soccer team couldn’t bounce back from their loss Tuesday night, falling 4-2 against the Central Iowa United soccer team Thursday. The Mustangs hung tough throughout the first half with CIU, whose made up of West Marshall, Collins-Maxwell, and Colfax-Mingo. PCM was tied 2-2 with Central Iowa United after the opening half, with their two goals coming from Justin Johnson and Caden Bouwkamp. In the second half, the Mustangs couldn’t find the back of the net, while their opponents connected twice more to drop PCM to 1-4 on the season. The Mustangs will try to snap their four-game losing streak tonight, hosting Sigourney, who they opened the season against with a 1-0 win on March 28th.
