The Simpson Storm ended a 10-game American Rivers Conference losing streak Friday night sweeping Wartburg in the first two games of a three-game set, 14-10 and 7-6.
In game one, the Storm scored seven in the first inning and two more in the second to take a 9-0 lead, with Wartburg scoring the next six runs to make it 9-6. The Knights then outscored the Storm over the next three innings 4-1, making it tied going into the bottom of the eighth, when the Storm erupted for four more runs to earn the win.

Game two saw the Storm shut out the Knights for seven innings, driving in a run in the first, two in the fifth, another in the sixth, and three more in the seventh to take a 7-0 lead. Wartburg again did not go quietly, scoring three more in the eighth and threatening in the ninth, loading the bases and getting a clearing double to make it 7-6, before the Storm got three quick outs to end the game.

The Storm go for the series sweep today, hosting the Knights in a game moved up due to weather at 10am. The game will be broadcast live on the KNIA3 stream on KNIAKRLS.com, with Andrew Swadner on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 9:45am.
