Pella Christian Soccer Teams Fall Monday Night

The Pella Christian boys soccer team came out on the wrong side of a 4-2 decision at home against Central Iowa United, while the girls soccer team struggled in an 8-1 loss on the road at Dallas Center-Grimes Monday night.

Camden Parker and Ethan Van Arendonk each scored goals to give the Eagle boys a 2-1 advantage at halftime of their contest. Despite having the early momentum, the second half got away from Pella Christian. Central Iowa United managed to find the back of the net three time after the intermission to drop Pella Christian to 2-3 on the season.

At Dallas Center-Grimes, the Eagle girls found themselves trailing 4-0 at halftime as the Mustangs posted 21 shots on goal. In the second half the Eagles limited DCG to just 11 shots on goal, but four of those shots resulted in goals. Pella Christian posted just three shots on goal in the game, all coming in the final 15 minutes of action. One of the three shots connected with the back of the net, as Lexi Terpstra got the Eagles on the scoreboard, before they fell to 3-3-1. The freshman has now scored in two of the team’s three conference games this season.

The Pella Christian boys soccer team will try to bounce back tonight as they host Dallas Center-Grimes in a 5:30 p.m. match. The Eagle girls are off until Thursday, when they travel to Chariton.
