Knoxville Girls Golf Heads To Oskaloosa Today
It is a light Thursday of events for Knoxville Panther squads; the girls golf squad heads to Oskaloosa for an 18 hole meet at Edmundson Golf Course. The Panthers will be joined by a group of teams that includes Pella and state power Washington. Faith Roozeboom currently has the 11th best 18 hole average in class 3A with an 86 which occurred on April 11th at the Centerville Invitational.
Knoxville Tennis Plays Davis County Today
Both Knoxville Tennis Squads will be on the courts today against Davis County. The girls are playing the conference favorite as the Mustangs have nearly everyone back from last year. The boys are looking to bounce back from a 9-0 setback against Chariton on Tuesday. Coach Kevin Wadle tells KNIA/KRLS Sports one of the areas of work is to go longer on each point, so his guys can force their opponents into a mistake.
Wadle: “I’ve talked about in high school tennis, more points are lost than are won. If we can keep that point a little longer, get them out of position, make them make a mistake, maybe just one more shot is all it takes.”
The girls will host at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts in Knoxville while the boys will travel to Bloomfield.
